Volunteer at Art on the Mall!

Art on the Mall is the largest free juried fine art show in northwest Ohio. This highly anticipated event would not be possible without the help of volunteers who ensure things are running smoothly.

We accept volunteers ages 10 and older, depending on the position.

Volunteer Opportunities

Set Up
(Ages 16 and older)

  • Arrive at 6 a.m.

  • Guide artists to their assigned locations

  • Assist artists with unloading their vehicles, moving their art, setting up their tents and other duties

  • Must be able to read a simple map

Beer Garden Servers
(Ages 21 and older)

  • Serve alcoholic beverages to guests in a beer garden in Centennial Mall, who have had their ID checked to determine legal age

  • Must be willing to request assistance if
    needed

Young Artists Area
(Ages 10 and older)

  • Any volunteers ages 13 and under must be accompanied by an adult

  • Help children and adults with art projects

  • Monitor safety

  • Direct children to open art activities

  • Replenish art supplies as needed

  • Help with face painting

Non-alcoholic Beverage Sales
(Ages 16 and older)

  • Sell soda and water and make change

  • Replenish ice

  • Request cash pick-ups and change

  • Volunteers drink for free with this year's Art on the Mall volunteer t-shirt and name tag

  • Artists drink for free and must have their artist ribbon

Greeters
(Ages 10 and older)

  • Any volunteers ages 13 and under must be accompanied by an adult

  • Must be able to stand to greet guests or provide your own seating - we will not have extra chairs at the art show

  • Greet art show visitors

  • Pass out programs and/or promotional items

  • Give directions if necessary

  • Answer questions

  • Be courteous, patient and friendly

  • Please note that this job will more than likely be in the sun and may be hot

  • Recycle programs as patrons leave the festival

Artist Relief
(Ages 10 and older)

  • Any volunteers ages 13 and under must be accompanied by an adult

  • Supply artists with soda and water

  • Stay at artists' booths for restroom breaks

  • Stay at artists' booths for food breaks

  • Must be able to walk and carry a small tote bag or pull a cooler with water in it for the artists

ID Checkers/Beer Ticket Sellers
(Ages 21 and older)

  • Must be able to read small print

  • Will need to check photo identification to determine if the person is 21 years of age

  • Need to be able to make change

Golf Cart Shuttle Drivers
(Ages 25 and older with a valid driver’s license)

  • Shuttle visitors from the parking areas to the art show

  • Help with errands as needed by the art show staff

  • Shuttles will transport guests to and from the parking areas to the entrance of the art show

  • Drive safely, must be 25 years of age and have a valid driver's license

  • One volunteer per cart
